Artist's Comments

It took long enough to get time to work/finish this... Phew!

There's too many areas where I colored then retweaked... The rose had pinkish highlights (I mean PINK), the snake was brown, blah, blah, blah... Anyway, hope you dig. :)

DAMN

Excellent choice of colors as always, and I love the blood (?) from the eye! Ties in with the rose and the Ace of hearts to bring the eye across the entirity of the piece.

There is a LOT of green, though. Especially in the box where Detresse is. I'm not sure what it would do, but what about adding some other color in there to break up the giant green block. Yes, it's lighter green, but you've got green on the snake and vines already.

Just throwing an idea at you.

PS: I like how Detresse's hair comes out of the format. Would you maybe want to mirror that in the smoke at the bottom/side(s) of the box or use it in another place as well? What do you think?

This would DEFFINATELY make a great T-shirt design!

I particularly like the noon-standard colors you used on this one, particularly the fire...and the way you factored the odd lighting into her costume colors is brilliant!

I would've went with either yellow/orange or blue for the fire (if you were to see the flats, you'd see that I originally had it as orange). I had bounced off of Chad if there was anything in particular he wanted to see, and he wanted green fire. I had debated about making the border of that box a different color to make it stand out, but I didn't. Even though the snake wound up being green (to match the Feeling Lucky piece), I wound up using blue for the highlighting and shadows, which I was hoping would be enough of a warmth change to separate them.

So, yeah, it was thought of... There was probably too much thought on my end on this one. LOL

I dig a lot! Great work and I must say fabo definition in the rose and leaves.
