Previously when I've attempted to color Joe's work, I had been getting in the mindset of "How would Joe color this?" when I guess I should have been just been going for it and not caring.
Anyway, I decided for a softer pallette with this one--softer skin, hair, and costume, just enough so that it stands out against the white background but just enough so that it isn't too big of a contrast. I think I did a much better job with the face as well. I hope you guys dig.
Joe is one of the few artists out there that has said "Go for it" whenever I've asked about coloring something of his. He's a really cool guy.

Really nicely done. It's a great melding of Joe and you both. It's still clearly his art from the face, but the softer lines and colors are really uniquely different too.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
